The Rocket Summer Releases New Music Video For “200,000”, Tour

Multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and producer BRYCE AVARY who’s known as THE ROCKET SUMMER has released a new music video for “200,000,” a song off his latest full-length album LIFE WILL WRITE THE WORDS,  released this summer on AVARY’s own Aviate Records. The video–which was directed by Marshall Burnette and has received over 30,000 views–is a whimsical end-of-the-world story, paired with elements of how AVARY self-recorded this record. As with all his previous albums, AVARY wrote and performed every note on LIFE WILL WRITE THE WORDS. Watch the video for “200,000” now here:

“The idea was to make a Wes Anderson-esque vid about being in love at the end of the world,” explains AVARY. “It was fun making the video but the best part was channeling my inner Tom Cruise by doing all my own stunts.”

Following a successful tour earlier this year with Switchfoot and a five-week national headlining tour, THE ROCKET SUMMER will again hit the road with support from The Classic Crime and William Beckett. The tour kicks off Thursday, November 1 in Louisville, KY with stops in Lynchburg, VA–featuring a special performance from Switchfoot–as well as Washington, DC, Long Island, NY and Akron, OH before coming to a close November 13 in St. Louis, MO. THE ROCKET SUMMER will continue on for one last show on November 15 in Waco, TX. Full itinerary below and tickets can be purchased now at

LIFE WILL WRITE THE WORDS was released June 5, 2012 and debuted #58 on the Billboard Top 200 albums chart and #2 on the iTunes Alternative albums chart–behind Fun.–with nearly 8,000 copies sold in the first week. In a 4 out of 5 stars review in Alternative Press, Annie Zaleski raved that the new album “…boasts some of Avary’s most concise songwriting to datea self confident, unfettered vibe that’s invigorating…Avary hasn’t lost the earnest energy of his early work, he channels this enthusiasm with maturity and finesse…the album embodies everything which makes the Rocket Summer so great-whether it’s the gorgeous, acoustic ‘Soldier’; the brisk, jazzy piano-pop shimmy of ‘The Rescuing Type’; the finger-snapping, Ben Folds-like ‘Circa 46’; and the nostalgic, classic-rock chug of ‘Just For A Moment Forgot Who You Are (June 2012).’”

Between sell-out acoustic tour dates in the U.S. and numerous headlining and festival touring abroad, 2011 saw AVARY experimenting with numerous new sounds in the studio, sounds including mandolin, a banjo, some trashcans and even a typewriter. His songwriting likewise stretched to a broader scope, examining the human existence with the advantage of both a strikingly personal eye experience and the experiential outlook of writers many years older. The result is a 12-track multi-dimensional collection that further establishes AVARY as a modern-day Renaissance man with the engaging outlook embodied in the album’s title LIFE WILL WRITE THE WORDS.
